The Ohio to Erie Trail is subject to partial closures periodically.  Closures could be planned such as construction or unplanned due to flooding, erosion or downed trees. These temporary situations are not reflected on our paper trail guides, however long term construction projects are usually shown on our Interactive Map.

If you are looking for navigation and route assistance while on the trail, visit the peer to peer Trail Enthusiasts facebook group for quick assistance. Go to this link https://www.facebook.com/groups/365793010917596.  If you don't have a Facebook account, our official Ohio to Erie Trail page is publicly viewable without a fb account.  https://www.facebook.com/OhiotoErie

Each year we see an increase in the variety of of organized end to end tours offered on the Ohio to Erie Trail.   We have a list on our Plan Your trip page at ohiotoerietrail.org/planOTET   or visit the direct link at https://ohiotoerietrail.org/tourOTET

Every week there are numerous events all along the OTET from local community walks to more ambitious fundraisers that have runners, walkers and bicyclists traveling many trail miles to raise funds for great causes. Many of these events are shared on the Facebook group for Ohio to Erie Trail enthusiasts. Join the enthusiasts group at link https://www.facebook.com/groups/365793010917596

Note that some local communities, such as Summit County, may have regulations regarding use of the trail for group events. The OTET Board of Directors recommends that event organizers check with local Trail Partners for permits and use-limitations.
