This photo is the southbound Camp Chase Trail which is the Ohio to Erie Trail towards Cincinnati.

This location is at the confluence of the Little Darby and Big Darby Creeks. The Camp Chase Trail goes over the Darby Creek using a wide lane on the south side of the bridge with a protection barrier between the trail and automobile traffic.

This trailhead is in Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park and the address is 8465 Alkire Road, Galloway or Grove City depending on your GPS system, either address is the same location. There are 2 large parking lots, clean and bright pit restrooms.

SOUTHBOUND: Trail access to the south follows the concrete pathway across the bridge, going WEST.

NORTHBOUND: The trail continues on the stone path SOUTH, then turns East on the paved Camp Chase Trail through woods and ravine areas.

SAG SUGGESTIONS:
DARBY CREEK TO LITTLE MIAMI RIVER
South Central Route (begins SW of Columbus)
Trail Rider: 62 Miles one way

SOUTHBOUND

This driving route closely parallels the trail and in some cases there will be easy line of sight between the road and the trail.  There are points where the trail and the driving route share an intersection but mostly the road and trail run parallel to each other.

SOUTHBOUND:
START: Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, 8465 Alkire Road
END: Oregonia, Ohio, Little River Bar and Grill is at 5527 Oregonia Rd.

ATTRACTIONS:
Community Mural Project, London
Madison County Courthouse 1 N Main St, London
Central State University Botanical and Community Garden (1 mile trail spur, west of trail)
Xenia Station, Trail HUB
Little Miami River at Corwin Nixon Covered Bridge

SAG ROUTE

START: Parking area at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, 8465 Alkire Road, Galloway, OH.  Camping is not permitted, but you can leave a vehicle for an up to 72 hours with the registration card.  If you request a longer parking time, they will need to confirm with you midway during your trip. Look for the wooden box by the trail ramp over the Darby Creek.

From the parking lot go left (west) on Alkire Road (CR 11) and it will change names at the county line to "Lilly Chapel Georgesville Rd"  (CR 102). When it ends at Wilson Road SE, go Left and then a quick right onto London-Lockbourne Rd (SR 665).  In London, the Roberts Pass crosses S. Maple St and currently ends at S. Walnut St.
The trail rider is guided on the Ohio to Erie Trail route with green signs and pavement markings to the trail continuation at the Prairie Grass Trailhead.  It is located on the grounds behind the Madison County Senior Center at 280 W. High St (US 42). London, OH 43140.  This location has primitive tent camping, but no overnight parking and no RV camping.  For an overnight stay, check with the Madison County Fairgrounds.

The SAG route from London to Spring Valley follows U.S. Route 42 and the trail is south of US 42 until Xenia
US 42 has varying speed limits along the way, so pay attention.  The trail crosses US 42 in Xenia at Miami Ave when the trail can be found north of 42 until Spring Valley where the trail goes beneath US42.
South of Spring Valley, from US 42 south, the SAG turns left (east) onto Roxanna New Burlington Rd (CR 61).  The trail crosses this road around 1985 Roxanna New Burlington Rd.
For an overnight stay, check with Caesar Creek State Park Campground.

The trail section from Spring Valley to Corwin does not have a close parallel road, so you can use backroads arounds Caesar Creek State Park and then follow New Burlington Road (CR 36) south to Corwin Ave.  Go left/south on Corwin Ave and the trailhead is off Main Street.
Another SAG option for this section is to use US 42 south from Roxanna New Burlington Rd to Corwin Ave.  From US 42, take a  Left/east on Corwin Ave and the street crosses the trail near S. Maple St.
The Corwin Trailhead has restrooms, drinking water and easy access to the Corwin Peddler eatery.
SAG: There are 1 way streets in the Corwin trailhead area, so heed the signs.  Leaving the trailhead, go south on Corwin Road.
Also, YES Corwin has a Corwin Avenue and a Corwin Road and they are perpendicular to each other.

There is a good view of the Corwin M. Nixon Covered Bridge from the Little Miami riverbank.  To find the river access, from Corwin Road, go right/west on Middletown Road and turn right in the parking lot when you see the sign "The Little Miami State and National Scenic River, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, CAESAR CREEK SCENIC RIVER ACCESS" located on County Road 39 (Middletown Road).  The lot is before the covered bridge, so if you cross the bridge, you missed the river access parking lot.

From the parking lot, follow the dirt footpath toward the Little Miami River and at the riverbank, look left (downstream) to see the covered bridge.
SAG: This small parking area has lots of divots in the gravel surface, so a large RV won't fit.

To continue to Oregonia, return to Corwin Road and go right (south) for almost 3.5 miles.  The trail and Corwin Road run parallel here.
END: Oregonia.  Stay at Hip Camp or AirBnb near Little River Bar and Grill : 5527 Oregonia Rd.

SAG SUGGESTIONS:
